Curriculum

Our curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF V2.0 2022)

The Framework conveys the highest expectations for all children’s learning, development and wellbeing from birth to 5 years and through the transitions to school.

It communicates these expectations through the following 5 Learning Outcomes:

Framework has a specific emphasis on play-based learning and the intentional role played by both educators and children in extending and enriching learning. The Framework identifies a shared Vision for children’s learning, Principles and Practices to underpin learning and teaching and the 5 Learning Outcomes. Together these elements inform the professional work of early childhood teachers and Educators. (EYLF V 2.0 2022)

Our educators are supported by our experienced Educational Leader to ensure that all children’s needs are being met as well as extended from room to room.

We strongly encourage and value parents input into our program and love when families share information with us about their children’s interests and activities outside of care.

We use both online and hard copy learning platforms to ensure that all families have insight to our program and their child’s goals and learning.

Value of Play

Learning through play: ‘Play provides opportunities for children to learn as they discover, create, improvise and imagine. When children play with other children they create social groups, test out ideas, challenge each other’s thinking and build new understandings.

Play provides a supportive environment where children can ask questions, solve problems and engage in critical thinking. Play can expand children’s thinking and enhance their desire to know and to learn. In these ways play can promote positive dispositions towards learning. Children’s immersion in their play illustrates how play enables them to simply enjoy being’.
